The blend of pear and chocolate is an all-time favorite at Carré Suisse! The melt-in-your-mouth pieces of pear and the tangy dark baking chocolate makes this dessert a definite crowd pleaser!
Ingredients:
3 pears - 1 L water - 100 g granulated sugar - 200 g softened unsalted butter - 130 g brown sugar - 3 large eggs - 40 g Carré Suisse 65% dark baking chocolate - 200 g all-purpose flour - 1 tablespoon baking powder - 20 g dark cocoa powder - 65 g reduced-fat milk
Instructions:
Peel pears. Bring a liter of water and 100 g of sugar to a boil. Add pears and poach for 10 minutes. Set aside.
In the meantime, whisk butter and sugar until thick and creamy. Add eggs one at a time to butter and sugar mixture.
Melt chocolate and add to mixture. Mix dry ingredients (flour, baking powder and cocoa powder) in a bowl. Add to mixture. Finally, add milk little by little.
Line cake pan with wax paper and add the chocolate batter.
Space pear slices evenly on top. Bake for one hour at 180°C.
Let cake cool. Enjoy!
